EFFECTS OF HEAT TREATMENT ON TECHNOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF WOOD MATERIAL

Abstract

Thermo
process is without using chemical material for modification method of wood and
was recently introduced to Turkey. This study was
conducted to determine some technological properties of the applied heat
treatment wood materials blackpine (Pinus nigra var. pallasiana) and ash (Fraxinus exelsior L.) wood.
Thereafter each sample was tested for observation of air dry density, oven dry
density,  volumetric swelling, volumetric shrinkage,
water permeability and torsion were determined. 
The results indicated that
the heat treatment method decreased
  the
air dry density and oven dry density. However, important increase was observed
for volumetric
swelling, volumetric shrinkage, water permeability and torsion strenght value.

ISIL İŞLEMİN (THERMO-PROCESS) AĞAÇ MALZEMENİN TEKNOLOJİK ÖZELLİKLERİNE ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Termo-işlem
(thermo-process) kimyasal madde kullanmadan ağaç malzemenin modifikasyonu için
kullanılan bir yöntemdir ve endüstriyel anlamda Türkiye’de yeni uygulanmaya
başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada; karaçam (Pinus nigra var. pallasiana) ve dişbudak (Fraxinus exelsior L.) odunlarına
ısıl işlem uygulamasının odunlarda hava kurusu yoğunluk, tam kuru yoğunluk,
boyutsal çalışmalardan hacimsel değişim (şişme ve çekme), su geçirgenliği ve
çarpılma (burulma) özellikleri belirlenmiştir. 
Çalışma sonucunda; ısıl işlem uygulamasının ağaç malzemelerin
hava kurusu yoğunluk ve tam kuru yoğunluk özelliklerini önemli oranlarda düşürmüştür.
Bununla beraber hacimsel çekme ve şişme, su geçirgenlik direncinde önemli
derecede direnç artışı olurken ağaç malzemenin çarpılma veya burulma
özellikleri üzerine de olumlu etkisinin olduğu görülmüştür.
