Çağdaş Sanatta Duyusal Bir Deneyim Olarak Bitkiler

Abstract

Floralar, bitkiler, botanik bahçeleri ve çoğunlukla çiçeklerin yer aldığı sanat eserleri; sanat geleneğinin önemli bir bölümünü oluşturmaktadır. Bitkilerin malzeme manipülasyonu gerektirmeksizin, birçok estetik niteliğe sahip olması, dekoratif unsurlar olarak kullanılmasına sebep olmuştur. Ancak çağdaş sanatta dijital teknolojilerin gelişmesiyle birlikte bitkilerin algılanma şekli ve bitkilerle yapılan uygulamaların yönü değişmiştir. Biyoloji bilimi ile dijital medyanın bir arada kullanıldığı enstalasyonlarda ve performanslarda, bitkiler estetik unsurlar olmaktan çıkıp bütünleştirici bir iletişim unsuruna dönüşmektedirler. Çoklu duyusal deneyimlere olanak tanıyan bu interaktif enstalasyonlar, insan doğa ilişkisinin de yeniden sorgulanmasını sağlamıştır. Dijital tabanlı enstalasyon, performans gibi sanat pratiklerinde sanat nesnesine dönüşen bitkiler, “nemli medya”, “siborg botanik”, “biyo-ilham” gibi yeni kavramların ortaya çıkmasına yol açmıştır. Makalede farklı sanatçılara ait bitki enstalasyonlarının bu kavramlar çerçevesinde ele alınması amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca dijital ara yüzler olarak bitkilerin, duyuları harekete geçirme kapasitesi estetik ve sanat felsefecilerinin görüşleri doğrultusunda, nitel araştırma yöntemiyle literatür taraması yapılarak değerlendirilmiştir.
