Polen Kaynağı Olarak Kokulu Gül Genotipleri İle Yapılan Tozlama Tohum Oluşumunu Etkiler Mi?

Year 2020, Volume: 57 Issue: 3, 393 - 399, 30.09.2020

Abstract

Rosa damascena Mill., Rosa odarata cv. Louis XIV) ile melez
çay gülleri olarak bilinen
Rosa hybrida L.
türüne ait iki ticari kesme gül çeşidi (Magnum ve First Red), anne ebeveyn
olarak ise
Rosa hybrida türüne ait
ticareti yapılan iki farklı kesme gül çeşidi (Polar Star ve Black Magic)
kullanılmıştır. Tozlama amacıyla 12 farklı kombinasyon oluşturulmuş ve 01
Mayıs-30 Aralık tarihleri arasında kombinasyon başına 20’şer adet melezleme
yapılmıştır.

Bulgular: Çalışmada kullanılan bütün ebeveynlerin ploidi
seviyelerinin 2n=4x=28 yani tetraploid olduğu belirlenmiştir. Baba ebeveyn olarak
kullanılan tür ve çeşitlerde polen canlılık oranlarının % 52.76-58.92, çimlenme
güçlerinin ise % 24.61-45.24 arasında değiştiği saptanmıştır. Tozlamalarda

Does pollination with scented Rose genotypes as pollen source affect seed set?

Year 2020, Volume: 57 Issue: 3, 393 - 399, 30.09.2020

Abstract

Objective:
Parental selection is one of the factors affecting success in rose breeding.
Considering factors such as ploidy level, parental productivity, pollen
viability, number of seeds per fruit and germination rate of seed in the
selection of parental selection and combinations affect the breeder's success
rate. This study was carried out to determine the effects of fragrant and
odorless rose genotypes used as pollination sources on fruit (hip) set rate and
number of seeds per fruit.

Materials and Methods: In this study, two fragrant rose species (Rosa damascena Mill., Rosa odarata Louis
XIV) and two commercial cut roses (Magnum and First Red) belonging to Rosa hybrida L. were used as male, two
different cut roses (Polar Star and Black Magic) belonging to Rosa hybrida L. species were used as female
parents. 12 different combinations were created for dusting purposes and 20
crosses were made per combination between 01 May-30 December.

Results: The ploidy levels of parents used in the study were
determined to be (2n=4x=28) tetraploid. It was found that the pollen viability
of the species/varieties ranged between 52.76-58.92 % and germination rate
ranged between 24.61-45.24 %. The
highest number of seeds per fruit in the pollination was determined in
combination with Black Magic x R.
damascena
with 25.67 seed while the lowest number of seeds per fruit was
obtained from Black Magic x Magnum combination with 7.00 seed.

Conclusion: In this study, it was concluded that pollination with
fragrant rose species used as father and parent increased the number of seeds
per fruit.
