MODELING AND SIMULATION ANALYSIS FOR GRID CONNECTED SOLAR POWER PLANT INSTALLATION: A CASE STUDY OF ILGIN/KONYA

Abstract

The economic life of solar power plants is given as 25-30 years. Many panel manufacturers offer a physical guarantee for 10-12 years and performance guarantees for 25-30 years. At the end of these periods, the solar panel used does not lose its life, only its performance decreases. This is realized as a 90% performance guarantee at the end of 10 years. Therefore, it is of great importance to conduct feasibility reports and simulation studies before making an investment. Many parameters such as the structure of the land, geopolitical position, topographic structure, distance to the power transmission line, current carrying capacity of the line, voltage drop, substation capacity, shading factor, etc. should be taken into consideration and calculations should be made accordingly. In this study, a modeling and simulation analysis was performed for a solar power plant that will consist of 1,250 kWe AC and 1,658.80 kWp DC electrical power values planned to be installed in Ilgın District of Konya Province. With these analyzes, the topographical structure of the land, azimuth angle, slope condition, shading factor, material selection, electrical energy production status and financial evaluations were made in detail.
