Dear Authors

You can reach the copyright transfer form here for your submission.

IJoT reserves the right not to publish any accepted paper that is not properly formatted and edited, including for proper English. While IJoT will work with the authors to prepare their papers, ultimately the authors take primary responsibility for formatting their paper according to these guidelines and editing for proper English.

Authors are requested to pay special attention to the following, as these are the most common problems that delay publication of papers:

  • Papers should not exceed 8-10 pages and should be structured as follows: Abstract; Introduction; Methodology or similar; Results or similar; Conclusions; Acknowledgements; Nomenclature; and, References.
  • The primary dimensions for the paper are summarized in Table 1 in the Template. A two-column format is used for the body. In the page layout, margins should be 1.5 cm, the gutter should be 0.5 cm, as in the template. Multiple pages setting should be “mirror pages”. Paper size must be “A4”. The distance from the edge of the header and footer should be 1 cm.
  • The part after Keywords should be in two columns as in the template. Column width must be 8.5 cm and space between columns must be 0.5 cm.
  • All figures, tables, equations and text must fit within the margins.
  • Times New Roman must be used throughout the paper.
  • The font color throughout the text should be black. Not light shades of black.
  • The information at the beginning of the first page in the template should be in the article.
  • Submission type must write top of the first page as in the template.
  • At the beginning of the paper, in the part above the abstract, paragraph spacing settings and font sizes (including blank lines) should be exactly as in the template.
  • Under the title, the writer name must be at correct format (initials of names and full of last name).
  • Only the initials of the words should be capitalized in the title of the article and in all titles within the article.
  • Font size must be 10 pt throughout the body of the paper except for the header, title, author names, submission type and footer.
  • Paragraph spacing should be zero throughout the text, except for the References section. As in the template, a blank line is placed where there should be spaces. Other than that, paragraph spacing is not added.
  • The corresponding author name must be marked as corresponding author.
  • All authors must be numbered and, all affiliations and emails also be numbered to show whose informations are they.
  • All authors’ orcid numbers should be next to the author's name. It is a obligatory for the journal that all authors’ orcid numbers must be given. Therefore, an author must register to the orcid number system and must have an orcid number who does not have one.
  • At least the e-mail address of the corresponding author must be given.
  • Abstract and keywords should be in a single column as in the template.
  • There must be 0.5 cm spaces on the left and right sides of the abstract and keywords parts.
  • In the Keywords section, only the first letter of the first keyword should be capitalized, and all the letters of the following keywords should be lowercase.
  • It should have page footers as in the template.
  • As in the template, the titles in the article should be numbered. Secondary titles must also be numbered as in template.
  • The body should be single spaced and justified.
  • The first line of all paragraphs should be indented 0.5 cm. Any other parts of the text shouldn’t have extra indents.
  • The unnecessary spaces throughout the text should be arranged so that they are not.
  • All tables and figures must be of high quality, legible, and make good use of horizontal and vertical space. All texts in all figures must be legible.
  • Tables must be the same format as the template.
  • Large figures and tables that span both columns must be at the top or bottom of a page.
  • Table must be given in one page if they fit. If it is given in two pages, the part of the second page is also named like first part of the table with addition “(continue)”.
  • A figure should not be divided into two pages.
  • Font sizes of 8 or 10 are appropriate for figures and tables. It is important that all texts in Figures and Tables be legible.
  • All table and figure titles are in italics and conclude with a period, must not be bold.
  • Single line titles are centered while multi-line titles are justified.
  • In the body of the paper, refer to figures and tables using the full word “Table 1” and “Figure 1.”
  • There must be a blank line before and after figures and tables.
  • The font size and font style in all equations must be as in the Table 2 in the Template.
  • All equations should be numbered.
  • The equation should be on the far left of the line, and the equation number should be on the far right of the line in paranthesis.
  • Equations that can fit on one line should not be given in two lines.
  • Equation numbers should be on the same line as the equation if they fit.
  • There must be a blank line between a body and an equation or between equations.
  • It has to be “Nomenclature” part before the references part. The nomenclature part must contain the definitions and units of all variables that in the equations. The nomenclature should include definitions and appropriate SI (metric) dimensions for the variables used. Acronyms should also be placed in alphabetical order.
  • “References” part must fit the template exactly. All papers published in IJoT must follow the IEEE Citation and Reference Style. Specific reference examples are as follow in the Template: journal article [2]; journal article with doi [3]; book [4]; conference article [5]; dissertation [6]; and online resource [1]. Detailed reference formats for other types of sources are readily available in IEEE Citation Reference: http://www.ieee.org/documents/ieeecitationref.pdf . IJOT encourage authors to use Mendeley as their reference management software or use any other reference management software. You can download Mendeley for free from its website. Authors are required to select "IEEE" as the citation style from the corresponding Mendeley plug-in in MS Word. Mendeley manages your citations and bibliography formatted in the journal's style.
  • References numbers in References part must be in the square brackets.
