PETROLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF PLUTONIC ROCKS IN THE VICINITY OF AKDAĞMADENI (YOZGAT)

Abstract

The plutonic units in the region around Akdağmadeni (Yozgat) are evaluated within the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (CACC). The plutonic units named Ortaköy Granitoid cut the lithodems belonging to Yıldızeli Metasedimentary Group. The Ortaköy Granitoid was solidified from a single magma and was analyzed as granitoids with granular texture and granitoids with K-feldspar megacrysts. Granitoids with granular texture crystallized relatively earlier than granitoids with K-feldspar megacrysts. Granitoids with granular texture are mainly composed of syenite and to a lesser extent quartz syenite, quartz monzonite, syenogranite, monzogranite, and granodiorite. K-feldspar megacrystalline granitoids are monzogranite in composition and some samples are granodiorite, syenogranite, and quartz syenite in composition. Within the K-feldspar megacrystalline granitoids, felsic magmatic enclaves (FME) with different sizes and granular textures, which are the product of rapid cooling, were observed in the outer zone of the magma chamber. Ortaköy Granitoid has subalkaline, alkaline-calcic character and shows calcalkaline distribution. The unit is peraluminous and shows the origin of unfractionated M-I-S type granitoids (OTG)" and I-S type granitoids. About the plate tectonics of the Ortaköy Granitoid, it is seen that the settling period is the "late orogenesis" period. The unit is located as "Within Plate Granitoids (WPG)".
