ANALYSING THE GENERATION PERFORMANCE OF A SOLAR POWER PLANT UNDER DIFFERENT TILT AND AZIMUTH ANGLE SCENARIOS

Abstract

In this study, the production performance of a 14.82 kWp / 10 kWe solar power plant was analyzed in detail under different tilt and azimuth angle scenarios. The plant's annual electricity generation was calculated using a computer-aided analysis program. As per relevant regulations, when the generated power exceeds the contract power during certain hours of the day, energy injection into the grid is restricted, and the power output is limited. In the simulation study, the panel capacity of the plant was designed to be 48.2% higher than the electrical connection capacity, and different loading scenarios were evaluated. The study analyzed nine panel layout scenarios, considering various tilt and orientation combinations. The optimal configuration was determined as 10% of the panels facing east (10°), 10% facing west (10°), and 80% facing south (20°), resulting in an annual net electricity generation of 23,831 kWh. Additionally, the environmental impacts of energy production were assessed, and it was calculated that the best scenario prevents 15.12 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. This study highlights the critical role of panel placement optimization in photovoltaic power plants to enhance energy production efficiency and minimize power limitations.
